Car Rental Terms and Conditions 

Car 'n Motion is a trade name of Car 'n Motion Car Rental & Insurance Consulting S.A., a societe anonyme based in Greece and with a Rent a car license from the Ministry of Tourism, Company Reg. No. 1351681000003600 with date of expiry 31/10/2024.

These terms and conditions, along with our privacy and cookies statement, constitute our agreement for the car rental services we provide. The contracting party refers to the main driver, i.e. the person making the booking. In the case of more than one driver, we will enter into a contract with all contracting parties upon receipt of the car.

During the contract period, our communication will be with the main driver of the confirmed booking.

These terms will apply to all contracts for the provision of our services to the exclusion of all other terms and conditions. No action on our part will be deemed to constitute acceptance of any other terms. Acceptance of the services or the signing of any agreement will be deemed conclusive evidence of your acceptance of these terms.

We may change the terms from time to time and we encourage you to refer to the website to keep up to date with any changes to the terms that apply to you.

The rental of any car by you is subject to the terms and conditions of car rental imposed by your chosen car rental company and the relevant legislation of the country in which the rental takes place. Individual restrictions may apply to car hire from different companies.

You will receive a car from us either directly from our own fleet, or in our capacity as an agent from our partner companies. The capacity in which we act depends on your preferences and choice of vehicle or additional services.

These terms apply to any booking you make through our carnmotion.gr and holidayemotions.com websites, through the official Car 'n Motion APP or through the company's reservations department and, therefore, you should ensure that you are aware of their contents. Both our own terms and the terms of the car rental companies we work with include certain exclusions and limitations of liability which we will disclose to you during the car booking process.

The booking made through our websites carnmotion.gr and holidayemotions.com, through the official Car 'n Motion APP or through the company's reservations department is subject to your acceptance of our terms and conditions. Especially for reservations made by telephone through the company's reservatioon department, we inform you that calls are recorded for security reasons. If you do not agree to any part of the above terms or do not wish your call to be recorded, you should not proceed with the booking.

By confirming your wish to book a car through this website, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted our terms and conditions. If you do not fully understand any part of them or have any questions about the renting of a car or any other product we offer please contact us using one of the available contact methods.

Confirm your reservation and receive payment

In most cases, we will immediately confirm your booking using the email address and/or mobile phone number you entered when you created your account.

In order to complete your booking and before you can collect your vehicle, we must have completed the process of verifying your account and we must have received in electronic form your identity card or passport, your driving license and recent proof of your main residential address, so that they can be checked, authenticated and registered in our system. Failure to send, refusal to send or failure to verify any of the above documents will result in the immediate cancellation of your booking and refund of your money. The company reserves the right to confirm the correctness of the customer's contact details (mobile phone, landline, work phone) by calling the customer directly, solely for the purpose for which the details have been obtained, i.e. the rental of the vehicle. The above procedure applies in full to any additional driver you have registered.

All Car 'n Motion bookings must be paid in advance based on the selected payment method and within the timeframe specified during the booking process.

Upon completion of the booking process, you will receive a confirmation of the provisional reservation to your email address. This confirmation is provisional and is not valid until payment has been completed. Upon receipt of payment, you will receive the confirmation of your reservation payment with all the information about the car you have chosen, the additional services, the pick-up / drop-off point and any other important details you will need before and during the rental of your car.

If payment is not completed on time, the reservation will be cancelled, and you will have to make a new reservation.

In cases of special vehicles marked "On Request" we will need to contact the partner car rental companies to check the availability of the car. We will inform you as soon as this happens and then will we proceed to complete your booking and send to your email address the payment confirmation.

You can "cancel" your reservations at any time within the cancellation policy in force at the time of your reservation by sending an email to reservation@carnmotion.com or by contacting our reservation department. Upon cancellation, we will refund your reservation in accordance with the cancellation policy.

In the event that after a confirmed booking there is a problem with the availability of a car from the car rental company, we will look for an alternative car from another company. If this is not possible, we will inform you and refund your money.

The choice of vehicle you made in your booking is binding in terms of category and not in terms of the manufacturer, model and features of the vehicle. In the event of an availability problem with the selected category, Car 'n Motion can upgrade to a higher category at no additional charge to the customer.

The final rental contract will be signed upon receipt of the car from the partner company. To pick up the vehicle you must have the following documents with you:

Α. The voucher you received from Car 'n Motion in printed or electronic form

Β. Your original valid identity card or passport

C. Your original valid driving license, issued at least one year from the date of receipt of the vehicle

D. A valid international driving license if and where required.

The above also applies to any additional driver declared in the booking.

All bookings made through our platforms carnmotion.gr and holidayemotions.com, the official Car 'n Motion APP and by phone at the reservation department are subject to the terms and conditions of Car 'n Motion. No partner company will ask you to pay any additional amount for the main booking of your car. You may be asked to pay for additional services such as child seats, chains etc. It is also possible that you may be asked for a fuel guarantee in accordance with each company's fuel policy (detailed in the fuel policy section).

What is included / not included in the price?

During the booking process, depending on the choice of vehicle category, you will see details of all the charges included in the booking price. In all bookings, the final prices include VAT, unlimited mileage (unless otherwise agreed in writing), full insurance with zero excess, free roadside assistance and payment without any cash deposit or credit card amount blocked.

The price does NOT include any additional accessories that may be requested by the customer upon delivery of the car, any costs related to the fuel of the car, as well as possible insurance premiums due to the age of the driver.

Fuel and deposit at the car rental station

Most car rental companies require a deposit to be paid at the start of the rental period in order to cover additional liability compensation, any charges that may arise during the rental and, in some cases, require the purchase of fuel. For all bookings made through Car 'n Motion, there is no obligation to pay any deposit either in cash or by credit card.

Some car rental companies will ask you to return the car with the same amount of fuel that was in the tank at the time of pick up. Others have a fuel policy but may ask you for a fuel deposit which they will refund in full as long as the amount of fuel in the car is at least equal to the amount of fuel at the time of pick-up.

Where the car rental company charges for fuel, the cost may be higher than the price at a local petrol station.

In cases where the car is returned with less fuel than the level stated in the rental contract, you may be charged extra refueling costs. The cost varies depending on the car rental company. For Car 'n Motion's owned fleet, in case of return with less fuel than at pickup, the refueling cost is 10 €.

Out-of-hours Service

At most airports cars are delivered outside normal operating hours. However, there may be an additional charge for this service, which will be paid directly to the car rental company. If there is an additional charge, you will be informed of this during the booking process and from the information on your Booking Confirmation Voucher.

In the event that due to a flight delay the car has to be picked up outside of the car rental company's normal business hours, the company may agree to provide an out-of-hours service. In the event of a delayed flight or late pick-up, please contact Car 'n Motion's customer service at +302102208297 to find the best solution for your convenience.

Minimum/maximum age restrictions

The basic age limit policy for bookings through Car 'n Motion is 23 years and older. Some car rental companies may also rent to those under 23 years of age with a premium charge for the driver. Some car rental companies may rent to 23-25 year olds with a premium charge. Finally, some car rental companies may charge a maximum age limit premium for drivers over 70 years of age.

Additional drivers

Fees for additional drivers may apply and must be paid at the car rental station (unless otherwise specified during the booking process). Each additional driver is subject to the same certification procedure as the main driver. All drivers declared in the booking must be present to collect the vehicle.

Rental extension period / delivery delay

The price of your car rental will be confirmed at the time of booking and is calculated on a 24-hour basis. It is not possible to extend the rental period after the predetermined end time of the contract. If you wish to extend the rental period, you must contact Car 'n Motion at +302102208297 at least 24 hours before the expiry of the rental period to check availability and the rental cost. If there is no possibility of extending the booking, the vehicle must be returned at the time and place indicated in the rental contract. In the event of an extension, the new rates may not be the same as the original booking as rates change based on availability, rental period, duration, etc.

If you deliver the car later than the time stated on your booking voucher, the car rental company may charge the extra time based on the local daily rate, which may be higher than the rate you agreed with us at the time of booking. The car rental company may also impose an additional charge for late delivery.

Late deliveries / early deliveries

The rental starts and ends according to the dates and times of pick-up and drop-off stated in the booking voucher received from Car 'n Motion. In case of late pick-up or early drop-off of the car, there is no possibility of any refund for the time the car is not used. If you are unable to pick up the car at the agreed time and date, it is necessary to contact Car 'n Motion service at +302102208297. If you fail to contact us, we cannot ensure that the car will still be available. In the event that you do not contact us and in the event that you do not appear at the pick-up point within 3 hours of the agreed pick-up time, the booking is considered a no-show and you are not entitled to any refund.

One Way rental

One Way rentals must be confirmed in advance and may be subject to One Way fees. You should contact Car 'n Motion's reservation department at +302102208297, we will note your booking request and inform you once we have confirmed the relevant fees and availability.

Child seats and special requests

Child seats, roof racks (not available in some car models) and other "extras" are available on request at most locations, although there is no guarantee of availability. The cost is either prepaid at the time of booking or paid to the car rental company, depending on the partner company and country. In most locations, child seats are required by law. Some companies may deliver the vehicle without child seats fitted, in which case you shall be responsible for fitting them.

Snow chains are subject to the relevant legislation in each country, which determines their mandatory nature based on the season and weather conditions. There may be an additional charge for adding them to the booking.

Road Traffic Code (RTC) and vehicle use

You must comply with the applicable provisions of the Road Traffic Code and any other regulations of the Traffic Police or the relevant department of the country in question. In the event of a fine being imposed for violations of the Traffic Code, the penalty and the fine shall be borne solely by the lessee of the car. The following actions are expressly prohibited:

a) Transportation of heavy goods and luggage

b) Transportation of more persons than stated in the vehicle's registration certificate

c) Leasing to third parties

d) Participation in motor vehicle races

e) Allowing drivers not added in the rental agreement to drive

f) Use of the vehicle for illegal activities.

Using fuel that is different from the fuel that is expressly prescribed by the vehicle manufacturer is prohibited. If the wrong fuel is used, the damage shall not be covered by the vehicle insurance. It is forbidden to load the vehicle onto ships without the prior written approval of the lessor company. In these cases there is a charge for special insurance cover.

Accident / Theft

In the event of an accident or other incident (fire, theft, etc.) the lessee and/or any additional driver is immediately obliged to:

a) not to admit fault or guilt and claims of third parties in any way, directly or indirectly,

b) to note the names and addresses of the eyewitnesses as well as the name and address of the driver and the details of the car, with which the car may have collided,

c) to notify the police to ascertain the fault of the third party and treat any existing injuries,

d)to contact Car 'n Motion immediately by telephone or any other means at tel. +30 2102208297,

e) to collect any information from any third party,

f) to photograph the accident scene and the cars involved in the accident if possible.

The hirer is required within 24 hours to complete and sign an accident/theft report at the Car 'n Motion branch and to hand over any documents or information relating to the accident. In the event of theft or loss of the car, the lessee is obliged to immediately report the incident in writing and hand over the vehicle key to the nearest police authority.

Administration Fees: In case of accident/damage or fine from a traffic violation, there is a charge for administration expenses regardless of liability, and it is not refundable under any circumstances. The administration fees vary per company and are stated on the following table. 

Accuracy of information

Although we make every effort to ensure the accuracy of the information contained on our carnmotion.gr and holidayemotions.com websites, neither we nor our affiliated companies can be held responsible for the accuracy of such information. It is solely your responsibility to evaluate the accuracy, completeness and usefulness of all information provided on our websites.

We shall not be liable for any rejection of the rental if your details at the time of collection are different from those you provided during the booking process.

We shall not be liable for any refusal of the rental in case the main driver or additional drivers do not carry the necessary documents to complete the vehicle contract.

Other terms & conditions

If you are driving the vehicle outside the borders of the country of delivery, please contact us to find out about the terms and conditions.

Especially for car pick-up within the Greek territory, the car is not allowed to leave the Greek borders.

Pets: Pets are not allowed inside the vehicle to avoid causing an allergic reaction to future renters of the same vehicle.

Smoking: Smoking is prohibited in the vehicle.

If the condition of the vehicle is adversely affected due to non-compliance with the above, there may be a biological cleaning charge.

Transporting inflammable materials, pollutants, drugs and any other substances unrelated to this contract, as well as the use of the car for committing an illegal or criminal act is prohibited. The violation of this condition as well as the damage resulting from the violation shall be borne by the lessee driver.

Car 'n Motion bears no responsibility for the loss of personal items of the lessee and the other passengers in the rented car during the rental period.

Maximum rental period is 30 days.
